There is a place for you here
Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds, including students, community members, professionals, and people who simply want to give back
Whatever your background, there is a meaningful way to support families on their journeys to heal from and overcome domestic violence.
When you volunteer with Caminar Latino, you are not only sharing your time. You are building relationships, strengthening community, and becoming part of a movement for safety, healing, and change.
Explore Volunteer Opportunities
Each volunteer role is different, but every role depends on care, consistency, and commitment. Explore the opportunities below to find a meaningful way to show up for families and strengthen community.
Come ready to commit, and we’ll help you show up prepared.
Every volunteer goes through an initial orientation and periodic trainings throughout the year, so that you can show up with cultural competency, compassion, and confidence.
We ask you to bring commitment, responsiveness, and a willingness to learn. We will provide the training, guidance, and the support you need to make a meaningful difference.
Field Experience for Georgia State Students
Caminar Latino welcomes Georgia State University students from psychology, social work, sociology, and related fields who are interested in gaining hands-on experience alongside Latine families impacted by domestic violence.
This student learning opportunity continues the legacy of Caminar Latino co-founder Dr. Julia Perilla, whose work at Georgia State helped shape generations of students, practitioners, and community leaders. Through this program, students can learn from Caminar Latino’s community-centered approach while supporting work rooted in community, healing, and connection.
At this time, we are unable to accommodate licensing hours for students completing counseling degrees in group facilitation roles.
